Evolver DFR Launches Integrated Drone as First Responder Program for Public Safety Agencies
Evolver DFR bundles Parrot ANAFI UKR GOV, DBOX PRT docking, and SkyfireAI FlyAura into a single turnkey DFR programme for police and fire agencies.

Main Story
The Drone as First Responder (DFR) market has long struggled with a fragmentation problem: agencies that want to field an autonomous aerial response capability must independently source aircraft, docking hardware, mission-management software, regulatory authorisations, and ongoing maintenance — often from different vendors with no shared accountability. Evolver DFR, a new brand operating under Drone Nerds (a division of Nasdaq-listed XTI Aerospace, ticker: XTIA), launched on 22 October 2026 with an explicit mandate to collapse those procurement silos into a single programme.
Evolver DFR, powered by Drone Nerds, a division of XTI Aerospace, has launched an integrated Drone as First Responder solution designed to help police, fire and emergency management agencies deploy autonomous drones for emergency response operations. Announced ahead of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Annual Conference in Orlando, the programme aims to simplify DFR adoption for police, fire, and emergency management agencies.
The rationale for a single-vendor approach is spelled out clearly by XTI Aerospace's own leadership. "Agencies need the aircraft, software, infrastructure, training, and ongoing support to make the system part of their daily operations," said Jeremy Schneiderman, Interim CEO of XTI Aerospace and CEO of Drone Nerds. "Evolver DFR brings those pieces together through a single solution."
The hardware and software stack centres on three distinct components that Drone Nerds has now formally integrated. Evolver DFR integrates the Parrot ANAFI UKR GOV aircraft, the DBOX PRT autonomous docking station, and SkyfireAI's FlyAura public safety software into one purpose-built emergency response system. Within minutes of a call, the solution puts real-time aerial video and data in front of dispatchers and commanders, improving situational awareness, protecting responders, and helping departments send resources where they are needed most.
Parrot's own senior leadership framed the collaboration in terms of what integrated delivery unlocks for agencies. "Through our collaboration with DBOX, SkyfireAI and Drone Nerds, agencies can now deploy a fully integrated DFR solution that combines secure autonomous operations, thermal imaging, and long-range visual capabilities in a streamlined platform built specifically for public safety," said Chris Roberts, senior vice-president and chief revenue officer of Parrot.
On the docking side, DBOX's CEO highlighted operational readiness as the design priority. "We know a dock is only valuable if it is ready every time a call comes in," said Dr. Linas Gelazanskas, CEO at DBOX. "We engineered the DBOX PRT around the ANAFI UKR so the two work as one system in any weather."
Beyond hardware, the programme's service layer is a significant part of the value proposition. It includes coverage planning, site selection, installation, training and support through Federal Aviation Administration approval processes, including authorisation to fly beyond an operator's visual line of sight (BVLOS). Agencies can purchase a multi-year programme covering multiple locations through a single purchase order, with no recurring subscription fees for the contracted solution.
Every programme includes "Always Flying" by Drone Nerds, which provides expedited replacement aircraft when equipment is damaged, along with dedicated technical support, maintenance resources, and operational help.
This launch follows a foundational commercial step taken in August 2026, when Drone Nerds partnered with DBOX to distribute the DBOX PRT autonomous drone docking system to U.S. public safety and government customers, with Drone Nerds serving as the exclusive U.S. distributor. The Evolver DFR programme represents the next stage: bundling that distribution relationship into a cohesive, commercially packaged programme.
Evolver DFR will be on display at IACP 2026 in Orlando from October 24–26 at Booth 2761, where representatives from SkyfireAI and Drone Nerds will be in attendance.
Technical Breakdown
Platform / UAV Class: The Evolver DFR platform is built around the Parrot ANAFI UKR GOV unmanned aircraft. The ANAFI UKR GOV is a quadrotor micro-UAV in the sub-1.5 kg MTOM class.
Weight & Airframe: The aircraft's mass with a standard smart battery is ≤1,033 g (2.28 lb), with a maximum take-off mass of 1,450 g. The airframe is rated IP53 for rain and dust resistance.
Sensors / Payload: The ANAFI UKR GOV carries wide-angle and telephoto cameras with 35× zoom and a 640-resolution thermal sensor. Specifically, the thermal imaging is provided by a FLIR Boson thermal sensor. The electro-optical chain shoots 4K (2160p) and FHD (1080p) video.
Propulsion & Endurance: Endurance is up to 38 minutes of flight time with a standard battery, and up to 50 minutes with the extended XLR battery, at a maximum forward speed of 17 m/s. Maximum flight distance reaches 23.1 km (14.35 mi) at 10 m/s airspeed on the standard configuration.
Range & Connectivity: The ANAFI UKR family supports multiple communications links, including Wi-Fi, LoRa and, on applicable configurations, 5G cellular connectivity, enabling BVLOS missions via 5G.
Cybersecurity / Compliance: The Blue UAS-approved ANAFI UKR GOV features wide-angle and telephoto cameras with 35× zoom and a 640-resolution thermal sensor, and it offers AES-256 radio link encryption and FIPS 140-2 compliance. The aircraft is also TAA and NDAA compliant.
Autonomous Docking Station (DBOX PRT): The drone launches from and returns to the DBOX, a climate-controlled docking station built specifically for the aircraft, that recharges it between flights and operates in heat, cold, and rain. The DBOX PRT docking station includes integrated rain, wind, temperature, and humidity sensors, four security cameras, Ethernet connectivity, dual-SIM 5G access, and support for physical USB, Wi-Fi, and 5G aircraft data transfer, depending on the selected system version. The DBOX PRT has an operating temperature from -32.8 °F to 122 °F.
Mission Software (SkyfireAI FlyAura): FlyAura software lets authorised users fly missions, stream live video, and share a common operating picture from a web browser, with TAK integration and a searchable record of every flight. SkyfireAI describes FlyAura as "bringing AI-assisted mission planning, remote flight operations, and real-time intelligence together in one platform."
Autonomy Level: The system operates at a high autonomy level for launch, flight, and recovery — the DBOX PRT handles autonomous deployment and recovery, reducing the need for personnel to remain on-site between missions. Human authorisation remains in the dispatch loop via the FlyAura web interface.
Industry Impact
For Public Safety Agencies: The programme removes the most significant barrier to DFR adoption — the complexity of assembling and integrating disparate vendor relationships. The multi-year, multi-site purchasing model with no recurring subscription fees for the contracted solution gives budget-constrained agencies cost predictability across the life of the programme. The inclusion of BVLOS regulatory support is particularly significant, as FAA Part 107 waivers for beyond-visual-line-of-sight operations have historically required substantial in-house legal and technical resources.
For Manufacturers (Parrot, DBOX, SkyfireAI): The arrangement creates a structured channel-to-market for three distinct technology providers through a single integrator. Parrot benefits from the ANAFI UKR GOV's positioning as the aircraft of choice in an end-to-end U.S. public safety programme, reinforcing its Blue UAS credentials. Drone Nerds, as exclusive U.S. distributor of the DBOX PRT, deepens DBOX's U.S. government market penetration without the Lithuanian company needing its own domestic sales infrastructure.
For the DFR Market More Broadly: Evolver DFR represents a maturing of the DFR sector from a technology-first to a programme-first model. Rather than selling components, the offering sells an operational outcome — a drone response capability embedded in agency workflows. DBOX describes the system as providing autonomous deployment and recovery for remote aerial operations, reducing the need for personnel to remain with the aircraft between missions, which directly addresses the staffing constraints many smaller departments face.
For Investors and XTI Aerospace (XTIA): The launch arrives as XTI Aerospace demonstrates revenue momentum. XTI Aerospace reported preliminary third-quarter 2026 revenue of $35.3 million, in line with its previously issued full-year revenue outlook of $125 million to $130 million. Evolver DFR opens a new recurring-revenue-adjacent channel through multi-year programme contracts, potentially improving forward revenue visibility for Drone Nerds' public safety vertical.
For Regulators: The explicit inclusion of FAA BVLOS authorisation support as a bundled service component signals that programme-level vendors are now absorbing the regulatory complexity that previously fell entirely to end agencies. This could accelerate BVLOS DFR deployments in jurisdictions that previously lacked the internal expertise to pursue waivers.
